'The Shining': Key Components in Making a Great Horror Film

Many elements go into comprising a “classic” horror film. The elements explored in this research include: fear of death, suspended disbelief, bloodshed, suspense, a good musical score, isolation and, lastly, a ghoulish environment. This research delves into specific examples of these elements using the case study of "The Shining." In conclusion, "The Shining" is a classic horror film, which is widely considered to be one of the top horror films of all time.
