The demands of the modern world and the 24/7 workday continue to challenge employers in terms of how to be efficient and effective while facing the active disengagement of their employees and the potential financial as well as psychological implications of this disengagement. Employers need to establish and foster a symbiotic relationship between themselves and their employees through a culture of engagement and strong partnership with Human Resources in which workplace components such as company culture and mission, job content and design, and job context are critically analyzed and consciously executed. Through the implementation of relationships focused on meeting individual employee needs and the human aspect of the workplace employers will find not only a competitive advantage yielding in results such as less turnover and onboarding expenses, better business practices, and more satisfied customers, but they will also enable successful and committed employees to not only meet their job expectations but also to exceed them and thrive.
